Ubuntu Derivative, Flavor, Remix or Edition?

An official Ubuntu flavor is recognized within the Ubuntu project. Community remixes and independent derivatives can change the desktop, repositories, release model, and maintenance practices. An edition may simply be an installation option rather than a separate distribution. This directory labels those differences to help readers compare like with like.

Before you install

Always review the current project's documentation, support policy, release notes and download checksums. Requirements and supported features vary by release and hardware.
